New ‘Quantico’ News: Is Not Airing On May 22; Show Goes On A Hiatus

There is no new "Quantico" episode this week as the show goes on a hiatus after Season 2 finale last week. According to Entertainment Weekly, despite low ratings, 1.3 rating among adults in the age bracket of 18-49, ABC has renewed the show for another season.

Although ABC has canceled shows like "Imaginary Mary," "Dr. Ken" and "American Crime," the network has renewed "Quantico" for Season 3 and many other TV shows like "American Housewife" and "Designated Survivor."

Josh Safran spoke with Hollywood Reporter about leaving the show and what he hopes from the new showrunner. He mentioned that he doesn't want the show to ever have a Muslim terrorist. He added that in "Quantico" Season 3, women are showcased at the forefront. He added that he will be watching over the progress of the show.

"All I hope that happens for the future of the show is that it remains a show that is inclusive, that is feminist, that is political and that is also entertaining. That is all I care about. I hope there is never a Muslim terrorist on the show. I hope that the women stay at the forefront of the show because it is their story. I hope that whoever takes it from here, I'll be watching over it. But I'm hoping those benchmarks are the most important," Safran said about "Quantico" Season 3 episodes and beyond.
