#MissingGoblin Becomes Trending Topic On Twitter; Fans Reminisce What They Love More About 'Goblin'
Fans of tvN's hit franchise "Goblin" are bonding together on Twitter to share what they miss most about the Gong Yoo drama. The hashtag #MissingGoblin trended yesterday with fans tweeting how they feel after the drama has ended.
Some of the fans shared the clips of their favorites parts of "Goblin" like the kissing scenes between Gong Yoo and Kim Go Eun. Some Twitter users shared snaps of the bromance between the Goblin and Grim Reaper played by Lee Dong Wook.
Other fans became more creative and shared "Goblin" inspired memes, showing multiple expressions from Gong Yoo's Kim Shin, his iconic squabbles with the Grim Reaper and Eun Tak. There were others who commented that they are watching and rewatching the show because they can't get over the fact that the drama has ended and many agreed.
It can be noted that most of the tweets came from the Philippines where the drama is currently being aired by local network ABS-CBN. Based on the tweets, fans who are currently watching the local airing have already seen the Korean version of the show but are still tuning in for the Filipino-dubbed version on television.
The strong support for "Goblin" has catapulted the show to reach record numbers while it was airing on tvN. For the show's finale raked in 22.1 percent viewership making it the highest-rated show on the network. Even after it aired, the show continued to break records as it doubled the earnings of "Descendants of the Sun" for video on demand.
According to Kpopstarz, "Goblin" brought in a total income of 14 billion won or $12.5 million USD from the period of December 2016 to February 2017. Records from Cable TV-IPTV attributed the strong earnings of the show to some 15-16 million fans who are still rewatching the drama long after it ended airing last January.
