'Pirates Of The Caribbean 5' Cast Adds Paul McCartney, Intriguing Connection Gives Hints On His Role In Movie
The "Pirates Of The Caribbean 5" cast now includes legendary Beatles member Paul McCartney as he rocks the series' signature pirate look. The 74-year-old musician becomes one of the series' aging rugged-looking pirates.
However, the question of which character McCartney will be playing as still remains. The iconic singer teased a picture of him donning the signature "Pirates Of The Caribbean" 5 cast attire via Twitter. The picture itself features the 74-year-old holding a bunch of cards in his hand, all while sporting a rugged and scruffy-looking beard.
Another noteworthy detail is that some parts of his facial hair are tied in a similar manner as that of Jack Sparrow's. According to CinemaBlend, the Tweet teaser raises some questions as to what exactly is the role of McCartney's character.
The source made some interesting connections, particularly between the newly-revealed "Pirates Of The Caribbean 5" cast mate and leading character Jack Sparrow. Jack Sparrow's father in the film was played by Rolling Stones founder and rock legend Keith Richards. It would be appropriate for the film's casting crew to include yet another rock icon into the mix of the Sparrow family, in the form of McCartney's new character.
Although nothing concrete is revealed yet in terms of McCartney's integration in the film's plot. Regardless, it would make sense for the new "Pirates Of The Caribbean 5" cast addition to have some family ties with both Johnny Depp and Keith Richard's characters. Perhaps McCartney could play as a gambler who also happens to be Jack Sparrow's uncle? At this moment, this remains a mere possibility albeit a highly-likely one at that.
As for the legendary Beatles icon, he has been pretty busy with tours lately despite his age. According to NJ.com, McCartney just added four more shows in the East Coast spanning from New York all the way to New Jersey. The iconic rock star's One On One tour starts off in Miami and will eventually tour to more parts in America since there's been an "overwhelming demand." Apart from playing as a pirate in the "Pirates Of The Caribbean 5" cast, McCartney has to juggle being a rock star as well. With that said, the music idol is certainly getting busier lately regardless of his age.
