2NE1 Alum Minzy Makes Impressive Billboard Debut With Solo Album, Sandara Park Shows Support
Former 2NE1 member Minzy's first solo-album titled "Minzy Work 01 Uno" made an impressive debut on various local and international charts including Billboard. Shortly after the said album's release, Sandara Park shared a supportive message for her former bandmate.
Minzy recently proved that she has the star power to command an impressive album chart ranking debut. The 2NE1 alum's first solo album entered the Billboard World Albums chart to secure the second spot for the week period ending on May 6. "Minzy Work 01 Uno" already sold 1,000 copies, according to Billboard.
"Minzy Work 01 Uno" was even described as the best-selling album in the U.S. from a Kpop artist for the last week of April. Moreover, Minzy's new solo album also nabbed a spot on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums chart at number 21. The former 2NE1 singer's said achievement marked the eighth time that a South Korean artist made it to the said chart this year.
Apart from the impressive Billboard ranking, Minzy's solo album also charted on several music charts. "Minzy Work 01 Uno" topped South Korea's iTunes Albums chart shortly after its release, according to Korea Herald. The said album also mirrored its local iTunes album listing achievement in the U.S. including several Asian countries such as Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia.
The former 2NE1 singer's new solo album boasts of a six-song track list that includes "Beautiful Life" and "Flashlight" where Minzy collaborated with Jay Park. Meanwhile, the title track for "Minzy Work 01 Uno" titled "Ninano" also features the rap artist Flowsik.
In other news, Minzy's former 2NE1 band member Sandara Park recently took to Instagram to show her support for the Kpop singer. The "One Step" star uploaded a photo of herself holding an autographed copy of "Minzy Work 01 Uno" and even wrote an encouraging message for her former bandmate.
