EXO Arrives in Mexico for EXO’rDIUM Tour
EXO arrived safely at their next stop for their North American tour on April 27, 2017 in Mexico City. Mexican fans have been anxiously waiting for the famous Korean boy group after Dilemma Productions' announcement back in February. EXO-Ls were ecstatic when news that EXO's North American tour was being expanded to include two more cities came to light.
EXO flew straight to Mexico after their concert in Los Angeles and Newark. They were greeted by excited Mexican EXO-Ls at Mexico City Airport. Their arrival was received warmly and the horde of fans that flocked to the airport remained organized and civil. Hours even before their arrival, the hashtags #WelcometoMexico and #EXORDIUMinMexico started trending worldwide on Twitter.
Back in their first tour, the popular boy group sold out tickets in approximately 1.47 second, prompting online ticketing service YES24 to prepare more servers to "cater to the massive number of fans", according to Digital Music News. EXO currently holds the record as a triple million seller after their last three albums sold over one million copies as of December 27, 2016.
Just recently, EXO won Album of the Year at the latest Golden Disk Awards for the fourth year in a row. According to Allkpop, this is the first time a boy group - or artist, for that matter - has won the prestigious Daesang for four consecutive years. The boy group broke the record of music icon and veteran Kim Gun Mo, who had three straight wins from 1994 to 1996. So it's no surprise that the group is now globe-trotting and conquering even the West, once city at a time.
Going back to Mexico, this will be the first time EXO will be holding a concert in the country. EXO'rDIUM takes place at the Mexico City Arena, which seats over 22,000 people.
