According to the official synopsis for "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" Season 4, Episode 18, Fitz has turned and the truth behind his turn is capable enough to bring down SHIELD for good. In the sneak peek from the episode entitled "No Regrets," Ward asks Simmons how what she is saying is true. "How do you know what you believe is true? How do you know it is not the other way around?" Ward asks. Simmons says that it is not possible and Ward asks for proof.

Simmons tells him that she doesn't need proof as this can't be real. She continues, "because the man I love would never execute someone in cold blood, Fitz would never do that." In "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" Season 4, Episode 18 sneak peek, Mace tells Simmons that she has been through a lot but what they do here matters and she can never convince him otherwise. Ward asks Mace if Simmons is delusional or PTSD. But, Mace believes that there might be a grain of truth in what Simmons is saying.
