The popular manga series "Tokyo Ghoul" finally released its 30-second trailer for its upcoming live-action adaptation. Though specific details were not revealed in the short clip, the teaser hinted on a lot of possibilities once the movie premieres on July 29 in Japan.

"Tokyo Ghoul" features the story of its protagonist named Ken Kaneki who was attacked by a flesh-eating creature called "ghoul." After the encounter, Kaneki had to adjust on a new chapter of his life as he became a half-ghoul who needed to prey on human flesh. According to Polygon, much of the story will revolve around the dilemma of Kaneki on how he will hide his new identity.

"Tokyo Ghoul" was first published as a manga in 2011. It was followed by another installment entitled, "Tokyo Ghoul:re" in October 2014. Due to its popularity, the manga was shortly adapted into an anime which began airing in July 2014 and was followed by a sequel entitled, "Tokyo Ghoul √A" released in January 2015.

Fans are already expecting the release of its anime's third season, but unfortunately, the team behind its production did not give a specific date yet. According to Anime News Network, one of the reasons why the release was delayed is to give way for its live-action adaptation. Moreover, since fans of "Tokyo Ghoul" complained about the lack of character development on its first season, the production considered the criticism and is reportedly looking for materials that would produce an engaging story line.

It was previously reported before that Viz Media Senior Director of Sales and Marketing Kevin Hamric mistakenly announced that "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3 will be released this year. The executive was actually referring to "Hero Academia" when he made the announcement, as clarified by Viz Media.
