A new episode of "The Walking Dead" is not airing on Apr. 9 as the show goes on hiatus after telecasting Season 7, Episode 16 finale. The fans will have to wait for the new season. AMC has not yet announced any official dates for "The Walking Dead" Season 8, Episode 1.

Meanwhile, showrunner Scott M. Gimple spoke with TVLine about "The Walking Dead" Season 8. In Season 7 finale, Sasha mentioned that she would not give up on Eugene. Gimple told the website that it is a hint what the story is. Eugene is still a part of the Savior. But, Gimple questioned, "if that is going to haunt him... change him?" We will have to wait to find when the show returns with a new season.

Elsewhere, Gimple also sat with The Hollywood Reporter about a possible time jump in "The Walking Dead" Season 8. He stated that folks who follow the comic books can expect a time jump.

"We're doing the book, we do all sorts of variations on it, and then we do things that are inspired by it and then we change things up with a remix. But I will say there are things that happen in that time jump that is referred to that are super interesting. And thus we might see some of that stuff; it might not be the same sort of jump, or we'll do that two to five years in real time," Gimple said.
