ZEST Member Choi Rape Case: Kpop Idol Says Sorry, Expresses Desire To Work Again; Fans Speculates Who Is Ms. Son
ZEST member Choi is now clear of all rape case charges after a former member of a girl group accuses him of sexually assaulting her. The Kpop idol, on the other hand, makes an official interview where he expresses his apology and his desire to work again. Meanwhile, netizens are all buzz up in speculating who might be Ms. Son is.
According to a report from All Kpop, Ms. Son, who accuses ZEST member Choi of rape has been sentenced to jail. This after the latter is found guilty for falsely claiming that the Kpop idol sexually assaulted her. As per Seoul Central District Court judgment, the accuser is sentenced to "6 months penal servitude and 2-year probation".
Adding on, the site revealed that the accuser filed the charges against ZEST member Choi on September of 2015. Since then, the boy group decided to postpone all their scheduled promotions. This eventually leads the departure of Choi Go.
In an interview with Sports World (via All Kpop), ZEST member Choi admits his desire to work again. Not to mention, he also promises to pork harder than before. Currently, he started practicing again and reveals his interest to come back as Choi Go.
Meanwhile, ZEST member Choi (via Koreaboo) also opened up about his struggles and desires during and after the rape case investigation. Based on his statement, he clearly expresses his regrets and apologies to everybody, especially to his former group. Adding on, he also revealed what he felt when he found out about the official judgment of the court.
ZEST member Choi admits not having any interest in speaking out after his rape case charges are all cleared. At first, the latter thinks it is better to "stay quiet" as he doesn't want to bring back the bad memories it caused. However, he then feels determined to shout out that he is innocent.
Moreover, ZEST member Choi acknowledges the impact of his former group to his life. However, he also expresses his apology to them who he considers as his family as they got affected by the scandal. Adding on, he also gave a heartfelt message to his fans.
"I am so sorry to you all. Being with the members was like I was living with another family. The group gave a huge sense of fulfillment and I am so thankful for their existence. But because of me, they did not do well," says Choi. "I felt so sorry to my fans when the first articles about the rape were published. I wanted to tell each and every one of them that it wasn't true. The fans who have been following my case on the internet have been leaving me supportive comments on my SNS profiles. Those gave me so much strength."
On the other hand, netizens have been speculating who could be Ms. Son. Though the court and the agency did not reveal the name of the accuser, most of the comments from All Kpop's trend thinks that it could be from Peach girl group. Even on Reddit, the commenters point out the possibility that the accuser is the former member of the girl group named Son Jeong Ae. However, as of writing, these speculations are still not confirmed and the name of the girl remains unknown.
