K-pop idols Jinyoung and Nichkhun To Star In Web Drama 'Magic School'

Good news for K-pop fans as JYP is set to produce a web series featuring two of the hottest K-pop idols from GOT7 and 2PM. The web series is entitled "Magic School" and will headline GOT7's Jinyoung and 2PM's Nichkhun.

"From the beginning of the drama's planning stages, we have been aiming to appropriately include novelty, humor, relatability, and emotion in its story," JYP Entertainment said in a statement cited by Soompi. "As spectacular as the cast and staff are, we will bring you a drama that will excite your senses."

According to a report by All Kpop, the series will revolve around a group of students enrolled in a school of magic who will be dealing with a myriad of issues that are familiar to the youth despite the fantasy concept. Jinyoung and Nichkhun will be joined by Yoon Park, Ryu Seung Soo and Shin Eun Soo as part of the main cast.

GOT7's Jinyoung will play Nara, a college student who wants to become a public official but will have trouble dealing with his lovelife because he has never dated before. True to his personality, 2PM's Nichkhun will play the fun loving and ever optimistic Jun, a poor but warmhearted fellow. In contrast, Yoon Park's character Jay will be the talented magician, who despite being a great entertainer holds a lot of sadness in his heart.

Ryu Seong Soo will play Master Han, the head of Magic School while his daughter Iseul will be played by Shin Eun Soo. Despite being the daughter of the head of the academy, Iseul is conflicted because of her own dreams to become a dancer.

The series is expected to start filming by July and release through JYP's various channels before the end of the year. JYP has not yet released information on the actual length of the series or the manner of its release.
