Former 2NE1 Member Gong Minzy Announces Release Of First Solo Album 'UNO' On April 17
It looks like Gong Minzy will be the first former 2NE1 member to release her solo album. The singer, who is now under Music Works label will be making her solo debut on April 17.
According to a report by Soompi, the label announced that Minzy's album aptly titled Uno as her first solo endeavor as an individual artist will feature a title track produced by Flowsik, who will also be featured on the song. Aside from Flowsik, one of the collaborations that fans are excited to listen to is the track the Minzy worked on with 12th Korean Music Awards Artist of the Year Jay Park. The new album will also feature Minzy's first self-composed track, making her album a very personal project.
In a previous report by Kpopstarz, Music Works revealed that Minzy worked very hard on the album as she made sure to be very involved in all aspects of her solo endeavor. The album is expected to show a more mature side to Minzy as an artist and is expected to set her apart from her former image as a member of k-pop idol group 2NE1.
Aside from the release date, Music Works also released the schedule for appearances, performances as well as the release of concept teasers and more. Minzy's first concept photo will drop on April 6 while the second one will be released a day after on April 7. On April 10, the first motion teaser will be released and the track list will be revealed on the 11th. ON the week of the release, the album preview will be held on April 13.
April 14 will mark the release of the MV teaser before the formal launch of Uno on April 17. For the meantime, Minzy is busy with Sisters' Slam Dunk Season 2.
