Despite losing a member, WINNER is lighting up the charts with a strong comeback. WINNER's comeback album Fate Number For hit #1 in the iTunes charts in 12 countries.
According to a report by All Kpop, WINNER's comeback album made it to #1 in the iTunes charts of Brunei, Colombia, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Kazakhstan and Malaysia. Their reach even reached Mexico, Norway, Philippines, Ukraine, and Vietnam.
WINNER released their album Fate Number For at exactly 4 pm on April 4 which emphasizes the number 4 because the former five-some is now a quartet. They also dropped two of their title tracks, the funky "Really Really" and the melancholic "Fool" MV at the same time.
WINNER's "Really Really" and "Fool" are both performing well in Korean charts, ranking #1 in Melon, Genie, Sorbada, Olleh and Bugs . It ranked #2 in Mnet.
WINNER members also recently opened up about the departure of their main vocalist Nam Tae Hyun from the team last year. Nam Tae Hyun also opted not to renew his contract with YG Entertainment last year.
In an interview with Soompi, Kang Seung Yoon admitted that they lost a lot of fans who supported Nam Tae Hyun when he left the group, but he had to leave the group because of health reasons. He said that while they were having a hard time coping without their fifth member, they wanted to show their love for their fans by working hard at the comeback and improving their skills to make up for their missing member.
"We decided that we shouldn't make our fans wait anymore, so we got right into working on music for a comeback," WINNER's Seung Yoon said. "We worked hard to improve our individual skills so that fans wouldn't feel like there's an empty spot. We had no choice but to become better."
