Samsung Galaxy S8 Release Date, Updates: Major UK Deal Revealed, Batteries More Robust
While the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be revealed a few hours from now, one retailer already leaked its huge deal for Samsung's newest flagship phone. The deal may confirm some speculations about the smartphone's features.
While the Samsung Galaxy S8 has been rumored a couple of times already to have a dual-edge screen with a powerful hardware, one UK retailer hinted a rumor about one of the phone's feature when it launched its deals earlier than expected, Express reported.
The UK retailer identified to be the Carphone Warehouse posted its campaign slogans on some of their stores stating "Unbox your phone." The banner also featured a promo where customers who will be purchasing a new Samsung Galaxy S8 will be able to get a free Samsung wireless speaker worth £99.99.
Though the Korean tech-giant has been marketing their upcoming flagship as a smartphone who would enable users to maximize music, rumors are rampant that it will follow Apple's move in removing the 3.50-mm headphone jack, the report added.
While this can only be confirmed once the device is revealed, The Verge stated in their report that the Samsung Galaxy S8 may possess the strongest and most durable batteries ever installed in a smartphone. This was after its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 7, faced issues of exploding batteries last year.
However, the publication also noted that the reason why the Galaxy Note 7 was trapped in an exploding battery dilemma was because Samsung tried to fit a large display using a low capacity battery. Since the Galaxy S8 is set to have a 5.8-inch display which is 0.7 inches larger that the S7 using the same 3,000 mAh battery capacity, questions are now being raised on whether Samsung can successfully pair a large screen with a small battery capacity in its upcoming flagship.
