'Overwatch' Widowmaker 13-Inch Statue Launched Under The Blizzard Collectible Brand
Blizzard Entertainment has delved into a new arena as the award-winning game maker has officially launched their premium collectible franchise dubbed as Blizzard Collectibles. As for their toy line initiative's first salvo, they released a collectible figure of the hero assassin from "Overwatch" - Widowmaker.
"Overwatch" and Blizzard faithfuls might get confused since the company has previously dished out a couple more heroes of the title namely Tracer and Reaper. The game maker is just simply putting a brand to its premium merchandise and it so happened that the Blizzard Collectible moniker was officially launched alongside the Widowmaker statue, Polygon has learned.
In a statement obtained by the publication, Blizzard's Matthew Beecher stated that it is the company's penchant to go all in with the things that they love to do which are evident with the lineup of collectibles that they have released. Beecher added that Blizzard Collectible's aim is to devise pieces of artwork that reflect the personality of their titles and went on saying that they are delighted to share these high-end pieces to fans and collectors alike.
As of late, "Overwatch's" premium action figures primarily consists of the above-mentioned heroes with Widowmaker being the latest inductee. All three figurines have a price tag amounting to $150 apiece alongside some restrictions suggesting that the collectibles are not eligible for special offers, other promotions, and free shipping.
Additionally, would-be buyers of these nifty "Overwatch" hauls are only allowed to purchase a maximum of two figures, according to Blizzard's website. At the time of writing, the Tracer statue has been sold out. However, the company made an assurance that the second wave of such figure is in the pipeline and added that they see to it that everyone will have the chance to own one.
