SBS is reigning over the TV rating race among Monday-Tuesday primetime dramas. Viewership shares for the new suspense series "Whisper" bested ratings posted by "Perfect Wife" and "Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People."

Lee Bo Young's new drama "Whisper" made an impressive debut and even achieved double-digit TV ratings. Aired on March 27, Monday, the SBS series' first episode registered viewership shares of 13.9 percent across the South Korea nation, according to Nielsen Korea, as cited by Soompi.

"Whisper" even surpassed its competitor dramas namely KBS' "Perfect Wife" and MBC's "Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People." The said MBC historical series posted TV ratings of 13.8 percent, while the KBS drama reached viewership shares of 6.4 percent.

The Lee Bo Young starrer also premiered with higher TV ratings as compared to its SBS predecessor drama's first episode ratings. "Defendant," which featured the "Whisper" actress' husband Ji Sung, previously debuted with an 11.9 percent rating.

Given the two SBS dramas nearly similar first episode viewership shares, "Whisper" is expected to mirror the success that "Defendant" achieved during its 18-episode run. The latter even capped off its two-month broadcast with nationwide ratings of 26.6 percent and 30.3 percent across the Seoul metropolitan area.

Meanwhile, "Whisper, Kdrama,"  tells the story of the judge Dong Joon (Lee Sang Yoon) and the detective Young Joo (Lee Bo Young). After Young Joo's journalist father was framed for a crime he did not commit, the young detective vowed to uncover the real perpetrators. Young Joo's personal mission will also push her closer to Dong Joon as they partner together to unveil the corrupt practices of South Korea's biggest and most prominent law firms.

In other news, the production team of the SBS suspense drama recently praised Lee Bo Young for her emotional performance on "Whisper." Despite having only aired two episodes, the series already showcased the actress' impressive talent. Crew members even told local reporters that Ji Sung's wife's acting prowess will create a lasting impression onK-drama fans, Korean news outlet Donga reported.
