"Overwatch Pacific Championship" will start on April 8, 2017 with eight teams participant from Pacific Region.

Blizzard has been busy these few months for updating some features in the popular "Overwatch" game, and in the recent news, they confirmed the new changes to the game. One of these updates could make changes to one of the oldest maps.

In the recent "Overwatch" PTR servers update, fans notice a few tweaks in the game. Dave Adams, the Principal Designer, confirmed that some of the tech they use to build maps and optimize for performance has evolved and affecting old maps.

London was one of the oldest and earliest maps in the "Overwatch" game, and some aspects of the art and lighting were updated to bring it in line with the newer maps and make it easier to make updates and changes in the future.

The King's Row has seen a revamp, however, there have been no major route changes that should concern players. The feedback referenced above is connected to fan displeasure over how the new tweaks make this map look, apparently a little too warm and ugly. Express noted.

In the recent news, Blizzard announced the new professional "Overwatch" esports league based in Taipei, the "Overwatch Pacific Championship." The league's first season will start on April 8, 2017, where eight professional teams from the Pacific region will battle for 11 weeks. These teams include Australia's Blank Esports, Hong Kong's Hong Kong Attitude, Japan's SunSister, DeToNator GOLD, Taiwan's Machi Esports, ahq eSports Club, Flash Wolves, and Thailand's FireBall.

All matches in the "Overwatch Pacific Championship" will be played offline. The top three teams will advance to the playoffs, and there is a prize pool of $357,000 AUD. The game was released last year and hits its popularity just a few months after the launching date. Now, according to research, the game could pull in revenues of as much as $720 million per year.
