"Amagi Brilliant Park" author Shoji Gatoh announced exciting news for all anime fans: military science fiction series "Full Metal Panic!" has a new anime adaptation coming up, with Gatoh confirming it at the recenty concluded Fujimi Shobo's Fantasia Bunko Big Thanksgiving 2015 event, thus becoming somewhat of an early teaser for fans, according to Crunchyroll.

No other details have been included with the announcement of new anime adaptation of "Full Metal Panic!" The most recent adaptation based on Gatoh's light novel series was "Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid" which is the direct sequel to the original anime series. It was premiered on July 2005 and ended on October of the same year, spanning a total of 13 episodes.

This is not the first time that the light novel series "Full Metal Panic" will get a new anime based on it. Speculations have started on November 2014 when the November issues of Dragon Magazine - published under Fujimi Shobo - published a two-page feature with an artwork of characters Sousuke Sagara and Kaname Chidori. It also says the words "coming soon" in bold red letters according to an earlier report from Anime News Network.

Shikidouji, the designated illustrator of the light novel series, also confirmed the news on that period when he responded to a fan via Twitter, saying: "Something is moving along. Please look forward to it."

As the last anime adaptation covered the events from the 4th novel "End of Day by Day," fans would likely speculate that the upcoming anime series will be based on the manga "Full Metal Panic! Sigma" which covered the events from the 4th up to its final novel titled "Always, Stand By Me."

However, this also means that the storyline wouldn't be anyone's cup of tea like the events from the "Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu" anime series. The "Sigma" manga has less comedy and darker plot, with the storyline following the original series and it focuses on Mithril fighting the terrorist organization Amalgam, which was headed by Tessa's brother Leonard according to a brief information from My Anime List.

Also, would Kaname and Sousuke finally come up to terms with how they feel for each other in the new anime? This is all for us to find out.
