The director of the latest "Final Fantasy" series, "Final Fantasy 15", explains why the protagonists only wear black outfits. The reason is due to their positions in the game's organizations, according to VG247.

In the past, there was no explanation why the four characters were wearing black outfits. Some fans had theories, but there was no confirmation from the developers.

"They are each wearing the specific battle dress relevant to their individual stations," said Hajime Tabata, director of "Final Fantasy 15", in a translated quote by Siliconera. "In the Kingdom of Lucis where our heroes reside, the color black has historically been treated as a special color."

"Because of this, the attire of the royal family and those in occupations closely tied to them are unified by having black as a base coloring," continues the translation.

So the outfits that the fans saw are not just because of fashion sense but it was the official battle gear, according to Gaming Bolt.

The director also explains that the finished game will have clothing that will have effects in battle. These outfits will not just be a part of the world and its background, according to Gamespot.

The launch of this long awaited game is scheduled next year for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Tabata confirmed while ago that the game will be launched before 2017, according to sources.

"Final Fantasy 15" will also be present at the upcoming Paris Games Week. The event will happen later this month. Square Enix will be present in the event along with other major personalities and companies in the gaming industry like Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and Platinum Games, according to Christian Today. "Final Fantasy 15: Episode Duscae 2.0" will also be playable during the event.
