Jake Bailey Dead At 37; Suicide Imminent Cause? Celebrities Mourn Loss

Celebrity makeup artist Jake Bailey died in his home in Los Angeles, at the age of 37. He was found by a friend who is also his assistant, unresponsive early Friday morning., revealed by TMZ.

"His death was reported a possible suicide by carbon monoxide; a full autopsy is pending", said Ed Winter from the Los Angeles County coroner's office.

A long roster of celebrities which includes Katy Perry, Paris Hilton, Emmy Rossum and Selena Gomez mourned the artist's death. The stars took to their Instagram and Twitter accounts to post tributes to Jake, according to CNN.

Bailey did Selena Gomez's makeup for spreads, and magazine cover shoots: He also glammed up Katy Perry for her Grammy performances, and Super Bowl halftime show.

"So sad, shocked & devastated to hear about Jake Bailey. He was such an amazing person, an incredibly talented makeup artist and friend," said Hilton, who described him as her makeup artist for the past 15 years. "We traveled the world together, worked on so many beautiful projects and shared so many memories. Will miss him so much."

Bailey's work is seen on numerous publications in the fashion world.; such as Allure, Vogue, Vanity Fair, and Harper's Bazaar.

A passionate photographer himself, he has collaborated with top fashion and entertainment photographers.

"It is with deep sadness that we share the news of Jake Bailey's passing", in a statement from Starworks Artist, which represented Bailey. "He was an undeniable talent, a great friend, a loving son and brother, and our grief is shared with all those whose lives he's touched,"

Bailey's last post, Thursday, is seen on Instagram; He shared a photo of himself without a caption.  

"Every time I sit in that chair we shared, just know, no one holds a brush to you, friend. Be free now", said Katy Perry in her heartfelt goodbye. She posted her well wishes and tribute to Jake Bailey on Instagram, Friday night.
