Ben Affleck & Jennifer Garner Gives Their Marriage Another Try; Reportedly Calls Off Divorce
Hollywood couple Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner agreed to call off their divorce, sources revealed. The former couple announced their divorce in 2015 after 10 years of marriage. Affleck and Garner remained on good terms after their separation and even continued to co-parent their kids 11-year-old Violet, 8-year-old Seraphina, and 5-year-old Samuel.
An unnamed source told PEOPLE that 44-year-old Jennifer Garner really wanted "to work things out" in her marriage with same-age former husband Ben Affleck and that it's the "Alias" star who ultimately "called off the divorce." The source said, "They are giving things another try." Another source close to the celebrity couple revealed both partners mutually agreed to pull the plug off their divorce as they still loved each other and "also really, really love their kids, and those kids love their parents." They just celebrated their son's birthday at their home in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles and "everyone seemed happy." The source added, "There is always a chance of reconciliation."
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner first met on film set for the movie "Pearl Harbor" in 2001. They co-starred again in the 2003 movie "Daredevil" after which they started dating and tied the knot in 2005. Garner divorced her first husband and "Alias" co-star Michael Vartan in 2003 after three years of marriage. Affleck dated actress Gwyneth Paltrow from 1997 to 2000 and got engaged to singer-actress Jennifer Lopez from 2002 to 2004. Affleck told Playboy in 2013 that Garner helped pick himself up during the rough times and that she's "by leaps and bounds the most important person" in his life. Garner returned by telling InStyle that same year that she "would do anything for" Affleck. In 2014, InStyle reported that the actress described her marriage to be "in a very mindful place where we're making an effort to be together, do things at the same time, and be loving."
As for exes, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner remained on friendly terms as they still lived together in L.A. and even kept up family vacations together. Garner told NBC's "Today" that they're "definitely a modern family" with an emphasis on "children first." The exes' amicable relationship kept reconciliation rumors alive.
