Girls Generation’s Taeyeon’s Album ‘My Voice’ Charts On Billboard, Beats BTS’ ‘You Never Walk Alone’
Girls Generations' Taeyeon reached an impressive feat with her new album nearly topping Billboard's World Album's list. "My Voice" nabbed the second spot and even bested BTS' "You Never Walk Alone."
South Korean singer Taeyeon's new album "My Voice" recently debuted on Billboard's World Albums chart. The Girls Generation's singer new album landed on the said list's number two spot for the chart period covering the week of March 18.
Identified by Billboard as one of the Kpop albums that debuted with a high ranking on the said chart, Taeyeon's "My Voice" even surpassed BTS' repacked album "You Never Walk Alone." The seven-member group's latest album previously held the third spot on the World Album's chart but recently dropped to number nine. However, at its peak, the boy band's album topped the said Billboard list.
Meanwhile, Girls Generation's Taeyeon's album also ranked on other Billboard lists. "My Voice" debuted on the Heatseekers Album chart at number 19 and landed the 43rd spot on Billboard's Independent Album's list, Soompi reported.
In other news, the Kpop singer's new album also nabbed the first spot on several local charts. Shortly after the album's release, "My Voice" reigned over the weekly charts of Hottracks, Synnara and Hanteo, All Kpop reported.
Moreover, the title track for "My Voice" also became a chart topper. Taeyeon's new song "Fine" nabbed the first place on local weekly charts such as Olleh, Bugs, Soribada, as well as Genie.
The Girls Generation's singer's new album marked Taeyeon's first time to release a solo full-length album. "My Voice" boasts of 13 songs including "Fine" and the pre-released track "I Got Love." Avid Kpop fans will enjoy the album's mix of ballads including several rock and dance tunes. The CD copy of the said album even contains her cover of Nell's "Time to Walk through Memories."
Taeyeon released "My Voice" on Feb. 28, Tuesday. The hit track "Fine," as well as its music video, was also dropped on the same day while "I Got Love" was released in mid-February.
