‘Jane Got A Gun’ Trailer Released After Production Delays; Film Will Not Be A Blockbuster Hit?
The official trailer for action-drama film "Jane Got a Gun" has been released, with its premiere date slated for next year. The movie stars Academy Award winner Natalie Portman, Noah Emmerich, Joel Edgeton and Ewan McGregor according to Cinema Blend.
Prior to the release of "Jane Got a Gun" trailer, production of the said movie has been initially postponed with its release date even pushed back many times. However, progress still continued despite the previous setbacks.
The movie was originally scheduled for August 2014 release, however the official distributor Relativity Media filed for bankruptcy last July that made the company lose their distribution rights. Added to the production miseries was the lawsuit between the producers and the original director Lynne Ramsey, however it was resolved later on.
The trailer for "Jane Got a Gun" was intended for international release. However, some critics are speculating if the film will even be considered a certified hit once it shows up in cinemas - not because the storyline is not good but its series of production delays might cause the movie to be a flop instead, which was hinted in a recent report from The Washington Post.
Actress Natalie Portman will play the lead role Jane Hammond, who, after getting previously beaten up by the Bishop Boys gang, had started a new life with husband Bill who will be played by Noah Emmerich. However, she crosses paths with her tormentors again and meets up with former fiancé Dan Frost for help. Dan will be played by Joel Edgerton.
The movie script was initially revealed in 2011 when it was included in the list of most popular unproduced screenplays by The Black List. Production was announced in 2012, it was halted when Ramsey had quit on the first day of shooting in May 2013.
Gavin O'Connor took over director duties for "Jane Got a Gun" while The Weinstein Company acquired rights for its distribution. It seems that the movie production is going to a good direction now, and we hope that it will arrive in time for its projected February 2016 release.
