Oscars 2017 Predictions: Will 'La La Land' Bag The Major Titles?

The Oscars 2017, or the 89th Academy Awards will take place on February 26 at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California. While the viewers are only counting a few days away, predictions have it that the movie La La Land would bag the major titles.

The romantic film that features the undeniable chemistry of Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, is a musical love story that captures the struggles of a jazz musician who is determined to defeat the odds just to hit the spotlight. However, little did Sebastian know that Mia will captivate her heart.

So far, the film won major accolades in several huge award ceremonies. The recent Golden Globe Awards gave the film all the titles for popular categories while most of the annual events awarded them the trophy for Best Picture or Best Film.

Since the Oscars 2017 is about to happen, Vanity Fair also thinks that La La Land deserves to win the Best Picture, Best Cinematography, Best Film Editing, Best Production Design, Best Original Score, and Best Original Song. Apart from that, the online media outlet would want its director Damien Chazelle and actress Emma Stone to win their nominations for Best Director and Best Actress, respectively, as well.

All in all, the 89th Academy Awards gave La La Land 14 nominations, so the chances must be high. On the other hand, Moonlight is another strong contender with eight nods. Moreover, other films like Manchester by the Sea, Arrival, Hacksaw Ridge, among others are also on the list for the Oscars 2017.

Popular host Jimmy Kimmel will be the masters of ceremonies while Justin Timberlake, John Legend, Sting, and Lin-Manuel Miranda will be performing at the event. Furthermore, the presenters would be Charlize Theron, Chris Evans, Halle Berry, and much more.

ABC will show the live events in small screens at 8:30 p.m. ET, with red carpet coverage kicking off at 7 p.m. ET. Those who are away from home may watch the ceremony via live streaming via ABC.com or via the ABC app on the smartphones.
