The zombie apocalyptic world of "The Walking Dead" Season 7 continues to expand with the addition of more characters and new communities. Recently, Andrew Lincoln shared his thoughts about the new society introduced in the AMC series' latest episode.

The midseason premiere of "The Walking Dead" Season 7 gave avid viewers a look at a mysterious group that appears to have kept a close eye on Rick (Lincoln) and his friends' activities at Alexandria. Featured in the AMC series' recent episode that aired on Feb. 12, Rick and friends were accosted by the said group's members while following up on a clue that Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) left them.

In the upcoming "The Walking Dead" Season 7 episode 10 titled "New Best Friends," the identity of the said group will be unveiled. Wielding various weapons and looking quite formidable, the new group surprised Rick and his team with a stealthy ambush although the Alexandria leader will try to take advantage of the situation.

Meanwhile, given the junkyard location of the new community, the group was given a unique name by "The Walking Dead" production team. Lincoln told TV Guide that the said new society was dubbed the "Heapsters."

The actor added that viewers will see some "crazy characters" in the upcoming episode of the AMC series. However, he did not divulge further details about the new community.

Lincoln also gushed over the 1980s set piece that the crew members prepared specifically for the "Heapsters" group. He explained, "There's a sequence that feels like a mash-up between [the movies] 'Mad Max,' 'Hellraiser' and 'Evil Dead' which I'm thrilled to see how the audience reacts to."

At this point, it is still unsure if the leader of the new junkyard-dwelling community will agree to an alliance with Rick. Given his plan to fight Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), Rick will try to convince everyone that he encounters to join his impending battle with the Saviors.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Scott Gimple shared that Rick will not view the "Heapsters" community as a threat, as evidenced by the smile that appeared on the said protagonist's face when he and his team were cornered. Gimple even described the said group as the potential "answer" to Rick's plan to form an army.

"The Walking Dead" Season 7 airs every Sunday on AMC.
