Hallyu actor Song Seung Heon made comparisons of himself with his hopelessly romantic character in the new drama "Saimdang, Light's Diary."

The 40-year-old actor visited Singapore to promote his new SBS drama "Saimdang, Light's Diary" where he plays the character of Lee Gyeom - a painter, artist and a devoted lover to Shim Saimdang.

The actor, who's starred in a number of hit various dramas and films, said his character in "Saimdang" beats him in many ways.

"(Lee Gyeom) is somebody that... is a bit better than me in terms of how much he loves Saimdang. So when you look at the drama, even though Saimdang gets married and she has a kid, I still love her and I still care for her, which is a bit out of reality right?" said Song Seung Heon as reported by themalaymailonline.

He added frankly, "I mean, I don't know how I can do it (in real life)."

The "Autumn in my Heart" star also revealed he's not much into arts himself. He shared a traumatic incident when he was still young and a member of an art club where his teacher made him draw an artwork a day for one to two months that he ended up being drawing away from art.

His character Lee Gyeom is also a skilled archer and can even play the traditional Korean stringed instrument Geomungo. For this reason, the actor deemed his "Saimdang" character as too good to be true.

If there's one thing, though, Song Seung Heon thrilled his female fans when he shared how he can relate to his fictional character.

"If I really like a person, if I love a person, I think I would only have eyes for the person like Lee Gyeom. I would love and care for that one person," said the actor.

"Saimdang, Light's Diary" clinched the top spot on viewership ratings for its first two episodes
