BTOB's Changsub To Play As Gu Jun Pyo In Musical Remake Of 'Boys Over Flowers'
As revealed by Cube Entertainment on Thursday, Jan 5, BTOB's Changsub was offered the role to play Gu Jun Pyo in the musical remake of 'Boys Over Flowers'.
"Changsub was recently offered a role for 'Boys Over Flowers'. It's currently in the adjustment stages," said the label confirming the rumor about Changsub being cast as the lead in the musical version of the hit drama.
'Boys Over Flower' was originally a Japanese TV series. The Korean version of the drama was aired on 2009 with actor Lee Min Ho playing the lead role. The drama was a huge hit not only in Korea but in foreign countries, as well. Lee Min Ho, as they say, rose to fame by playing Gu Jun Pyo in the said drama. Joining Lee Min Ho in the cast are Ku Hye Sun, Kim Hyun Jjoong (SS501), Kim Bum, Kim Joon (T-Max) and Kim So Eun. Together they made 'Boys Over Flowers' a remarkable part of the K-drama history.
Changsub, on the other hand, debuted as a lead vocalist of the boy group BtoB (Born to Beat) on March 21, 2012. Aside from Changsub, the group consists of Eunkwang, Minhyuk, Hyunsik, Peniel, Ilhoon, and Sungjae. The group has released two albums: 'Complete' (2015) and '24/7' (2016). The group also went on some concerts and tours in and outside of South Korea.
Changsub is also part of the new season of the SBS's reality-documentary show, 'Law of the Jungle', which was filmed in Mongolia. Joining him are Kim Byung Man, Lee Chun Hee, Kim Min Kyo, Park Se Young, Ye Ji Won, Eric Nam, Seo In Guk, Lee Sun Bin, Kangnam (M.I.B), Ryu Seung Soo, and Julien Kang.
Fans of BTOB are truly happy to hear that Changsub will be the new 'Gu Jun Pyo'. They said the role suited him well.
