Nintendo 3DS Online Will Have Its Annual Server Maintenance; Online Service Will Shutdown For 2 Hours

The Nintendo "3DS" online server will have its maintenance this coming Janaury 9th. Nintendo announced that the server maintenance will last for 2 hours and will won't change anything on all online features and activities.

"3DS" Online servers will be temporarily unavailable during the server maintenance, which will be on the 9th of January. The Gamespot reported that the maintenance will start at 5pm PST and will end at 7pm PST, it will at 1am until 3am in the UK, January 10th.

The server maintenance for the Nintendo "3DS" is some kind of an unusual matter, but fans must be reminded that the Nintendo "3DS" server maintenance was held annually. The server needs to shutdown for 2 hours to assure that there will be no accidental changes on the server's end and player's current game progress, leaderboards, rankings and some online activities and transactions.

However, "3DS" owners who are engaged in a scheduled event on the same day of the server maintenance, they will need to restart the said events or activities. Features such as Tournaments, Scheduled Matches and other related scheduled events will be deleted on the timeline. Players will also need to reboot their Nintendo "3DS" console before reconnecting online.

In addition, for some Nintendo news and updates, Nintendo already announced the Nintendo Switch Presentation will be held on January 12th in Tokyo, Japan. The announcement was made via the Nintendo Official Website.

The Nintendo Switch Presentation is a much awaited event by several fans where the company will reveal all the stuffs related to the upcoming Nintendo Switch. The official specs confirmation along with the games that will be released are among the things that Nintendo fans would want to know.
