Melissa Benoist Relationship News: ‘Supergirl’ Star Files For Divorce From Blake Jenner

Despite the positive turnaround in her career, it seems that Melissa Benoist is having a tough time sorting out her personal relationship. Recently, she has decided to terminate her relationship with husband Blake Jenner.

According to TMZ, the "Supergirl" decided to file a divorce from the "Glee" star, 24, after four years of relationship. The actress mentions "irreconcilable differences" as the main reason. Notably, it was reported that Benoist did not ask for any support from her spouse. She would also like to change her name to her maiden name, rather than being known as Melissa Jenner, reported Inquisitr.

Fans might remember Melissa making the news when she was seen wearing a thin silver wedding ring during the CW's "Supergirl" promotion at Comic Con in October 2015. She reportedly told her crewmembers that she was already married, at the Comic Con.

Although the wedding ceremony was low key, still, Jenner admitted that he had sung "Will you marry me?" as part of his marriage proposal. Us Weekly has earlier noted that Benoist and Jenner were secretly married in March 2015. The couple spent their honeymoon in Europe and also shared romantic pictures of their journey.

The newly separated couple met while filming for the TV series "Glee", where Benoist portrayed the role of Marley Rose, and Jenner posed as Ryder Lynn. The couple instantly fell in love in the sets and was inseparable. Moreover, Benoist was found saying several times that she was very happy with the on - screen and off - screen chemistry.

Benoist has also worked with Jenner in her new series "Supergirl", where the actor played the role of Adam Foster. Jenner appeared for two episodes on the said show.
