Park Bo Gum Surpasses Song Joong Ki As '2016’s Most Favorite Drama Actor'
Park Bo Gum is named 2016's Most Favorite Drama Actor by Gallup Korea leaving actor Song Joong Ki at number two.
South Korea's most trusted survey research company released Thursday the results that proved the so-called "Bogum Magic."
According to Yibada, Gallup reportedly conducted the survey from Nov. 4 to 25 among 1,700 South Korean respondents aged 13 and above.
The two handsome actors who appeared together for a Domino's Pizza CF are followed behind by actresses Song Hye Kyo, Kim Yoo Jung and actor Jo Jung Suk for the top five.
Park Bo Gum expressed gratitude for being compared with the 31-year-old leading actor of the drama hit "Descendants of the Sun."
"Comparisons aside, I'm just very thankful that I'm able to receive such a great amount of love and support," said the young actor in an interview with Ilgan Sports, as reported by iTechPost.
He added, "And whenever I hear that [comparison between me and Song Joong Ki], I tend to motivate myself more. It also makes me think that I need to engage in acting and also in life more honestly and smartly."
The 23-year-old actor, who starred in last year's "Reply 1988," achieved mainstream success with the drama "Love in the Moonlight" also known as "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds."
Song Joong Ki also shared his warm thoughts toward the other actor. He revealed he didn't expect the "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" to be such a hit and thanked everyone who loved Park Bo Gum.
"I knew 'Moonlight Drawn By Clouds' would do well, but I didn't know that it would do this well," Soompi quoted Song Joong Ki as saying at the 2016 Seoul Drama Awards.
He also expressed his interest in working with Park Bo Gum in the future.
"It would be great to play brothers sometimes, or even two guys that fight over the same girl," he shared.
Song Joong Ki is currently shooting his new movie "Battleship Island" with co-stars Lee Jung Hyun and Hwang Jung Min.
Park Bo Gum is in Hong Kong for the second leg of his "2016-2017 Park Bo-gum Asia Tour Fan Meeting." He kicked off his Asia Tour by charming his Malaysian fans.
