Ji Chang Wook Reveals the Truth Regarding Dating Girl’s Generation Yoona
Ji Chang Wook clarifies dating rumors between him and his "The K2" co-star Yoona.
The tvN thriller political drama ended its run on Nov. 12 with its 16th and final episode. However Ji Chang Wook and Yoona's chemistry was incredibly convincing and to date, people continue to speculate the stars' true relationship. To this, Ji Chang Wook has once and for all cleared the suspicions.
"The dating rumors involving Yoona are not true," Ji Chang Wook clarified in an interview with dongA on Dec. 1. "I just worked hard and, again, a lot of people came to misunderstand this time. So I thought, 'Again?' and just laughed."
Ji Chang Wook may have shared a really intimate relationship with Yoona on set, and as their characters, to a point that rumors of them dating in real life kept resurfacing. To make sure that it is not negatively affecting the actress to be in such kinds of rumors, the actor shared that he talks to Yoona about the matter.
"I always try to be very considerate of the actress," Ji Chang Wook added. "I've also talked to Yoona about these rumors and we just laughed it off."
Ji Chang Wook starred in the tvN drama series "The K2" alongside Yoona. His character Kim Je Ha was a former soldier turned fugitive and was hired by a wife of a presidential candidate to guard his secret daughter Ko An Na, played by Yoona. Working as a bodyguard with different motives, Kim Je Ha soon finds himself falling in love with Ko An Na, putting the two in a complicated situation.
"I think good acting results when working together in a comfortable environment," Ji Chang Wook remarked. "And that also helps to increase the viewers' focus but that tends to lead to misunderstandings. I think that's what happened again this time."
Ji Chang Wook then said that he would rather describe his relationship with Yoona as a close oppa-dongsaeng or brother-younger sister.
The 29-year-old actor has also revealed that he will be enlisting in the military sometime in 2017, as required by the South Korean government. As such, he deems dating at this time won't be good for him and his partner as he goes away to fulfill his military obligation.
