'Missing 9', an upcoming drama to air on MBC every Wednesdays and Thursdays, is casting Jung Kyung Ho and Baek Jin Hee in lead roles, MBC confirmed.
The drama revolves around the story of Seo Joon Oh (played by Jung Kyung Ho), a celebrity who used to be known as a musical genius, and his coordinator, La Bong Hee (played by Baek Jin Hee), as they try to survive on a deserted island after their plane crashed. They were also trying to figure out the mystery behind the accident that almost killed them.
Before it was confirmed that Jung Kyung Ho and Baek Jin Hee to lead new mystery drama 'Missing 9', the drama went through a lot of changes. From the title, to the plot, down to the cast, this drama went through a lot of modifications.
The drama's first title was 'Picnic' before it was changed to 'Gaia', before it was changed again to 'Missing 9'. Even the plot went through a lot of changes. From a story about a group of idols stuck on an island, to a story about a washed-up k-pop star turned reporter and his stylist who have to fend for themselves after their plane crashes on a deserted island, to the final story plot that it has right now.
Even the casting went through a hullabaloo before the final cast members were decided. Thus, hearing about the news that Jung Kyung Ho and Baek Jin Hee to lead new mystery drama 'Missing 9' is somehow a relief to the waiting fans.
Jung Kyung Ho's latest project before this was MBC's 'One More Happy Ending' (2016). On the other hand, this will be Baek Jin Hee's first drama after 'My Daughter, Geum Sa Wol' (2015).
The drama is set to air January next year.
