Kim Soo Hyun and Hongki Failed to Make it to the KPBA
Actor Kim Soo Hyun, together with rock band F.T. Island member Hongki, recently participated in the pro-bowler qualifying matches. Both celebrities scored an average of more than 190 points during the 2-day bowling match (October 22-23), making them qualify for the second round. Kim Soo Hyun finished in 10th place with average points of 221 while Hongki landed on the 27th spot with average points of 207.7. However, during the final cut held on October 29-30, Kim Soo Hyun and Hongki failed to make it to the KPBA (Korean Professional Bowlers Association).
During the final cut of the pro-bowler matches, the participants must garner an average of 200 points or up to qualify. Both Kim Soo Hyun and Hongki failed to hit the points required for qualification. Kim Soo Hyun scored 174, 191, 204, 220, 190, 177, 182, and 196 in the morning and 184, 224, 236, 214, 195, and 222 in the afternoon, giving an average of 192.4. He landed in the 68th spot out of 97 participants. Hongki, on the other hand, scored 224, 201, 225, 224, 160, 203, 201, and 172 in the morning and 143, 179, 151, 177, 146, 180 and 136 in the afternoon, giving an average of 172.2. He ranked 89th out of 97. With average scores below 200, both Kim Soo Hyun and Hongki failed to make it to the KPBA.
All participants who passed the final qualification match will undergo training and will be again evaluated in Mid-November. Those who made it to the final evaluation will become professional bowlers and will automatically qualify to join KPBA.
Although both Kim Soo Hyun and Hongki failed to make it to the KPBA, fans are still congratulating both celebrities. They said their efforts to make it to the first round are enough to make them proud of both idols.
