Hyunjoo to Leave April; the Band to Bring in New Member as Replacement
Fans of the K-Pop girl group, April, are disheartened to learn that one of its members, Hyunjoo, is leaving the band for good. Hyunjoo to leave April permanently after her hiatus since May this year. Last May 12, DSP Media announced that Hyunjoo would take a break from work because of health reasons.
According to the entertainment company, "For the time being, it will be difficult for Hyunjoo to appear on broadcasts due to her health issues. We apologize to the fans who care for Hyunjoo about the sudden news." According to the agency, the singer was having difficulty in breathing and constant headaches, thus, she needs to take a break from work to recuperate. However, five months after the news on her hiatus, it was confirmed that Hyunjoo to leave April for good.
According to the DSP Media's official announcement, Hyunjoo to leave April to pursue an acting career. It was also stated that the singer has now fully recovered from her health issues. However, her hiatus period made her think about a change in her career path. The singer talked about her intention with the management and the management decided to grant her request. DSP Media even asked fans to still support and love Hyunjoo as she took another career path.
And since Hyunjoo to leave April for good, the management decided to bring in another member as her replacement. The girl group's new addition is expected to join the group as April releases a new album next year.
April debuted last August 24, 2015, with their mini-album 'Dreaming' and the title track 'Dream Candy'. The group had formerly 6 members: Chaewon, Naeun, Yena, Jinsol, Hyunjoo, and Somin. Somin left the group last November 2015. And now, to follow Somin, Hyunjoo to leave April, as well.
