SNSD's Yoona on Ji Chang Wook: 'My aunts said he was very nice and liked us together'
On the September 27th episode of tvN's "Taxi," the stars of "The K2," SNSD's Yoona and actor Ji Chang Wook graced the show as guests. The two shared some personal details about their lives, specifically Yoona's journey to stardom, her popularity in China, and how the two actors got close in Spain.
Allkpop reported that the SNSD member was praised by the show's MC referring to her as the new Hallyu star in China because of the massive success of her Chinese drama "God of War, Zhao Yun." To this, the idol-actress shyly replied that the 10 billion views for the drama are indeed true. The views for her drama exceeded those of South Korean hit dramas such as "You Who Came From the Stars" and "Descendants of the Sun."
Yoona also revealed the hardships that she went through during the days she dreamed of becoming a celebrity. She narrated, "Before I went under my label and officially debuted with Girls'Generation, I went through about 200 auditions. It was 200 auditions for dramas, movies, and commercials. There were projects that I did film for. I found strength through so many auditions. I gained confidence."
Her co-star in "The K2," Ji Chang Wook, also revealed how they became close while filming their drama in Spain. He said, "This drama is the first time I have met her. When we were filming in Spain, we talked to each other a lot."
He also mentioned, "There was a reason we could not help but get close. We had to film an emotional scene in Spain. If we did not get friendly, we would have been uncomfortable. The director told us to warm up to each other quickly, so I asked for her number at the airport. We drank coffee at a cafe in front of the hotel and talked. Then we just naturally got friendly."
It also seems like Yoona's family members are fond of Ji Chang Wook. She shared, "Recently at Chuseok, I met up with my family. My aunts said he was very nice and liked us together."
