Can We Expect a New Project from CL and Drake?
Lee Chaerin and Drake are rumored to have an upcoming project together as part of her international career expansion.
CEO of YG Entertainment, Yang Hyun Suk met the Canadian rapper backstage during his "Summer Sixteen" concert, Koreaboo reported.
CL is set to debut in America soon with her full English album. Her latest track "Lifted" featured both Korean and American culture where she collaborated with rapper Method Man.
The hit song was performed at the "Late Late Show with James Corden" where the singer-rapper gave a taste of hallyu wave to her international fans and audience.
Corden introduced the leader of the girl group 2NE1 as "one of the hottest pop stars on the planet." She was the first solo Korean artist to perform on the show.
The baddest female's stage presence was emphasized by the presence of neon lights which symbolized her transition from the Korean to International music industry. Her performance received praises from the audience and the host himself.
Coden even joined the 25 year old singer on her performance the way he does to his Carpool Karaoke segments, Billboard reported.
CL wore an American flag scarf and spoke English fluently throughout her TV appearance.
Yang Hyun Suk seemed very supportive with CL's career. Local media assumed that the talk between Drake and YG CEO "appears they were discussing CL" although "YG Entertainment avoided giving direct answers."
Lee Chaerin debuted in 2009 as the leader of 2NE1. The band has been out of the spotlight since 2014.
Her first solo single was released in 2013. Her international career is under the management of Scooter Braun, the man behind Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen, Asher Roth and Ariana Grande.
CL's first American album has no official release date yet.
