Many people are wondering what is the reason behind Angelina Jolie's filing for divorce from Brad Pitt. It has yet to be revealed.

Actress Angelina Jolie has filed a divorce from her two years husband and partner, Brad Pitt. According to Jolie's lawyer, the most influential couple has ended their relationship which started in 2005.

"This decision was made for the health of the family. She will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time," Robert Offer, Jolie's lawyer, said in a statement.

On Monday, Jolie went to Los Angeles Superior Court and filed the divorce together with the court documents needed. Jolie will have the full custody of their six children ages 8 to 15 years old with visitation rights from Pitt but Jolie did not hope for any spousal support. Also, Jolie said that their separation date was on September 15.

"I am very saddened by this but what matters most now is the wellbeing of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time," Pitt said in a statement to People magazine.

"Brangelina" is the term people called them because of their popularity and they are considered as one of the most visible couples in the entertainment world. They have been married for 10 years and their relationship was always stable in tabloid reports.

Previously, Brad Pitt's marriage to actress Jennifer Aniston did not work well and they are speculations that Jolie is the cause of their break-up.

Angelina Jolie, a 41-year old actress won the Oscars for her movie Interrupted (2000) where she got the title of best supporting actress. Jolie was previously married to actors Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton.

Brad Pitt, a 52 year old actor, was married to Aniston in the year 2003 where is also the start of the filming for his movie together with Jolie entitled "Mr & Mrs Smith" which gained popularity worldwide for their good chemistry and acting skills.

According to some legal experts, the eye of the public is on the couple's money and how it could affect the proceedings of their divorce. Jolie and Pitt have an agreement after their divorce.

"They were only married in August of 2014 ... it was actually a very short marriage. My guess is that they are going to take the high road and settle this case out of the courts," Jacqueline Newman, a New-York based lawyer who deals with high-net-worth and high-profile clients, told the people.

This sad news about the couple has shaken the online world and social networking sites. Some people are expressing their thoughts about the couple's break up and many people still can't believe on what happened to them.
