Lamar Odom Still In Coma; Khloe Kardashian 'Heartbroken' And 'Inconsolable'

Former NBA star Lamar Odom remains in coma since he was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday, Oct. 13, and ex-wife Khloe Kardashian has been on his bedside ever since, according to TMZ.

Lamar Odom's coma was believed to be a result of accidental drug overdose. Odom, 35, has been found unconscious at Dennis Hof's Love Ranch, a brothel located in Crystal, NV. He was soon rushed to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, with ex-wife Khloe along with her sister Kim and their mother arriving shortly after.

Medical reports reveal that the athlete-cum-reality star suffered brain damage and had at least one stroke since his hospitalization. Nye County Sheriff Sharon Wehrly told reporters that Odom had done cocaine over the past weekend, and also he used up to 10 tabs of sexual performance medicines over a 3-day period according to Huffington Post.

The most recent update on Lamar Odom's coma came at 11:00 PM on Oct. 13. His heart is failing and he is also having serious problems with his kidneys and lungs. The whole Kardashian family is currently rallying by his side, with Khloe being reported as "heartbroken" and "inconsolable."

He was born Lamar Joseph Odom on November 6, 1979 in Queens, NY. He started his career as a professional basketball player in 1999, when he was selected by Los Angeles Clippers for the NBA draft that year. He got to play as well for other teams in the course of his career such as Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks, and New York Knicks.

Odom married socialite Khloe Kardashian in September 2009 after a month of dating, with their wedding featured in the latter's show "Keeping Up with the Kardashians." The couple filed for divorce in December 2013, however it has not been finalized as of recent update. Odom has been reported for infidelity and substance abuse, where he pleaded no contest during his August 2013 arrest for driving under the influence.
