Niantic to Release Pokemon Go to Apple Watch
On the launch of the Apple Watch series and new iPhone 7, Niantic revealed the release of Pokemon Go to the latest Apple Watch.
The creators of the worldwide hit game said explained their objective which is to combine "gameplay and imagination with getting exercise and exploring the real world."
Apple Watch is designed as a sports watch. With that, the game version will work well with the tracker, quick taps and haptic notification features of the watch. Players can also get their activity summaries such as collection of items and travelled distance as part of the fitness tracker technology of Apple Watch, Yuga Tech described.
The gameplay of Pokemon Go is said to be compatible with the features of Apple Watch. In order to capture new Pokemons, players must walk literally towards different places.
However, Apple has not yet introduced a health application that can tell the number of steps and burned calories counted in a day. With that, players must log Pokemon Go as a workout in order to operate the calorie counter while playing.
Apple has been promoting health on their projects and one of these include the release of Niantic's game. Pokemon Go on Apple Watch is also believed to help in preventing accidents related to the gameplay. Players do not have to stick their faces to their phones all the time when catching creatures.
The American technology company spilled other surprises during the event. These include the new features of iPhone 7 and debut of Super Mario on iOs.
Despite these surprises, critics claim that Apple Watch still lack of a "killer app" that will justify its high price. Time stated that Pokemon Go is not enough to persuade people to spend too much on a smartwatch. However, the company was commended for incorporating games that will bring unique features to the device.
