Activision has finally revealed the release date for the fourth and final downloadable content (DLC) pack for Treyarch's latest installment in the "Black Ops" sub-series of the "Call of Duty" franchise, "Call of Duty: Black Ops III," with the pack set to arrive for the PlayStation 4 in early September.

The release date was announced in the recently released promotional trailer for the long awaited finale of the "Call of Duty: Zombies" miniseries in the franchise. Titled "Call of Duty: Black Ops III - Revelations Prologue," the trailer acted as its title suggests and brought players back up to speed about the recent happenings in the "Zombies".

Starring the voice and likeness of prolific English actor Malcom McDowell as Monty, the prologue video of the final and biggest threat that players will face in the upcoming Revelations map that will be included in the game's fourth map pack, "Salvation."

For the non "Zombies" maps also included in the pack, "Salvation" will introduce the new Outlaw, Micro, Citadel, and Rupture multiplayer maps wherein "Call of Duty: Black Ops III" players can kill each other until the arrival of the next title in the "Call of Duty" franchise, "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare."

A read-up of the maps provided by Activision indicates that Outlaw is a remake of the fan-favorite multiplayer map Standoff from "Call of Duty: Black Ops II." Whereas Standoff 's visuals indicated it was in a location set in Asia, specifically in a supposed border town between China and Kyrgyzstan, Outlaw will have more of a Wild Western feel to it. The relation also suggests that that, just like its spiritual predecessor, Outlaw will also feature a design meant primarily for sniping.

Rupture is another multiplayer map in Salvation that is also a remake of another "Call of Duty" classic, this time of the Outskirts map from "Call of Duty: World at War." Just like how Outskirts was period appropriate and set in a sleepy European town during World War II, Rupture is set in a highly futuristic location, though likely in a timeline further than the game's setting, where society has degraded to the point that the planet's atmosphere has been destroyed.

For the two non-remake maps, Citadel and Micro, their map descriptions indicate that the former will have a lot of tight corners to promote close quarters combat while Micro will similarly encourage small scale warfare by literally shrinking down the players so they can fight on top of a picnic table.

The fourth and final DLC of "Call of Duty: Black Ops III," "Salvation" will release on September 6 for the PlayStation 4. No news yet on its release to other platforms.
