After initial reports surfaced that Microsoft might be planning to introduce a revamped slimmer version of its base PlayStation 4 model alongside the more powerful PlayStation "Neo," photographed and video evidence of the brand new slim console and its components showed up online.

A video was posted by Youtube user ZRZ, a prominent poster of videos that usually deal with various PlayStation 4 related content, where he spoke about and showed an alleged Dualshock 4 controller supposedly designed for and with the much rumored PlayStation 4 slim.

Thought the DualShock 4 controller shown in the video looked much like any old regular DualShock 4 controller that is currently released, it did contain one main difference that acted as a strong indicator of the veracity of the controller being the new PlayStation 4 slim DualShock 4; the light bar placed on the device's frontal face.

When ZRZ pressed the on/PlayStation 4 button on the controller, a total of two lights went up on the device; viewers could instantly see a thin bar of light blinking right on top of the controller's touch pad, right alongside the regular light bar present in previous iterations of the controller. Though nature of the smaller face light bar makes it uncertain if the light source is separate from the larger regular light bar considering their proximity to each other, the fact that it was blinking while the larger light bar stayed on suggests that they are indeed separate.

The video came after previous reports indicated that Sony might be planning to launch both the PlayStation 4 "Neo" and a supposed revamped version of its base standard model at it's upcoming PlayStation Meeting event on Sept. 7.

While the "Neo" was previously confirmed by Sony Interactive Entertainment President and Group Chief Executive Officer Andrew House in early June, unofficial confirmation of the slimmer PlayStation 4 model surfaced just recently with Eurogamer reporting on images that indeed showed a slimmer, more streamlined version of the PlayStation 4 console.

The source of the images came from Twitter user shortman82 who announced that he acquired an alleged PlayStation 4 slim from online retailers. Media representatives then proceeded to contact shortman82 and took photos of his machine, with the posted images showing the difference in design between the regular PlayStation 4 model and the alleged PlayStation 4 slim. A quick look alone will tell anyone that the PlayStation 4 slim is true to its namesake, in addition to featuring a rounded finish to its corners and edges in comparison to the regular model's sharper design.

More information about the PlayStation 4 slim, alongside those for the more powerful PlayStation "Neo," might come in Sony's PlayStation Meeting event on Sept. 7.
