A preview of the next upcoming 12th episode of the third season of Disney's "Girl Meets World" is set to bring with it some major nostalgic triggers for fans of the show's predecessor series, "Boy Meets World," according to the preview released for the episode.

The 11th episode of "Girl Meets World" just aired, which means that there is another week before fans of the series can once again indulge in the continuing story of the now grown up Cory Matthews (Ben Savage) and his daughter Riley (Rowan Blanchard).

To both tide the show's fans over, as well as to promote hype for the next episode at the same time, Disney shared a promotional video for the episode on the official Disney Channel Central YouTube channel. The short teaser indicated that big trouble, as much trouble as is wont for the show anyway, is brewing in the next episode titled "Girl Meets Bear."

Riley will realize that "something is gone," and the whole cast will get pressganged into looking for it. As the title of the episode suggests, "Girl Meets Bear" will have Riley losing her favorite teddy bear. More than that, the "Girl Meets Bear" episode will also feature a major callback to "Boy Meets World," in addition to an answer that might have long been brewing in the heads of the fans of the original show.

In a longer promotional teaser video shared by The Wrap, a tidbit of one of the other video's scenes got presented in an expanded light. While looking for the stuffed animal, Cory's other child and son Auggie (August Maturo) finds a container and pulls out a small trinket which he believes are a pair of silver mittens.

Cory notices the object his son is holding and suddenly remembers something; it turns out that those "silver mittens" are actually none other than the silver boxing gloves necklace that Cory's father gave to him in the original show.

Taking the bling from Auggie, Cory told his son of how his father won the necklace in the navy and gave it to him. Fans of "Boy Meets World" will remember that event as shown in the 19th episode of the show's first season, "Kid Gloves." Unfortunately, the necklace was pretty much never brought up again afterward as the publication explained.

Cory then tells his son of how, despite the sheer sentimental importance of the jewelry, he actually lost boxing gloves, which might be why the original show never touched on the subject again. Ceasing the opportunity to teach his son another life lesson, Cory explained that it is fine for a child to lose things because that's what they do. Instead of focusing on the material object, one should instead focus on the thoughts tied to the object.

When Auggie asked if Cory was going to give them to his son like his father did back then, Cory said that the responsibility might be too much; a notion Auggie agreed to, mentioning that the subject of the bear was already too much for him.

"Girl Meets World" season 3 episode 12 "Girl Meets Bear" will air Friday, August 26 on Disney.
