Amber Heard Donates To Charity $7M Divorce Settlement From Johnny Depp?

Amber Heard donates $7 million to charity after getting divorce settlement from Johnny Depp.

On Thursday, the actress released a stamen confirming that she will donate the entire divorce settlement money into two charities.

"As described in the restraining order and divorce settlement, money played no role for me personally and never has, except to the extent that I could donate it to charity and, in doing so, hopefully help those less able to defend themselves," said Heard in a statement sent to USA TODAY.

Heard will give the half to the Children's Hostpital of Los Angeles to help ill children while the other half to American Civil Liberties Union (ALCU) that prevents violence against women.

"As reported in the media, the amount received in the divorce was $7 million and $7 million is being donated. This is over and above any funds that I have given away in the past and will continue to give away in the future. The donation will be divided equally between the ACLU, with a particular focus to stop violence against women, and the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, where I have worked as a volunteer for the past 10 years alongside organisations like the Art of Elysium. Over the years, I have seen firsthand how more funding for staffing, better equipment and better medication can make the difference between life or death for a child. I know these organizations will put the funds to good use and look forward to continuing to support them in the future. Hopefully, this experience results in a positive change in the lives of people who need it the most," Heard said from her released statement.

During the proceedings in the court, the actress accused the Pirates of the Caribbean lead actor of emotional and physical abuse during their married life. Particularly narrating Depp's acts of striking her and throwing a mobile phone during a fight but Depp denied the accusations.

The lawyer of Johnny Depp said that she made accusations to get more favourable settlement in the court.

The Hollywood couple got married last February 2015 and they announced their break-up this May.

Heard took out a temporary restraining order against the 53-year-old obliging him not to get in contact and stay 100 yards away from her.

On Tuesday, the couple released a joint statement after closing the multi-million dollar settlement.

"Our relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love. Neither party has made false accusations for financial gain. There was never any intent of physical or emotional harm. Amber wishes the best for Johnny in the future. Amber will be donating financial proceeds from the divorce to a charity," a statement from Depp and Heard.
