Phil Collins' 'Warts and All' Biography Release Date Confirmed; New Music Set To Be Made?
Singer-songwriter Phil Collins' "Warts and All" biography has been confirmed for October 2016 release by Collins himself, Billboard writes.
Phil Collins' "Warts and All" biography will likely cover his days as one of rock music's best drummers, his ascension to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for being the drummer and later vocalist of band Genesis and also his equally-successful solo career. Collins, along with Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney, is one of the few singers to sell over 100 million copies both as a solo artist and a band member.
Collins stated regarding his upcoming book, "Several times over the last few years I have been asked to write a biography but never felt that the time was right - until now."
He also added, "I am ready to go on record about my life in music with all the highs and all the lows and to tell the story from my point of view, warts and all!" Phil Collins' "Warts and All" biography will be published by Penguin Random House, a subsidiary of Century Publishing. Ben Dunn, the company representative, stated that the memoir is one of the greatest untold stories and something everyone have been desperate to read, according to Rolling Stone.
Collins, 64, rose to fame in 1970 through his band Genesis, being the group's drummer and later on as vocalist following the departure of lead singer Peter Gabriel. He debuted as a solo singer in 1981 with his single "In the Air Tonight," and went on to become a Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter and record producer. His best hits include "Another Day in Paradise," "I Wish it Would Rain Down," and the popular soundtracks from Disney movie "Tarzan" - "Two Worlds" and "You'll Be in My Heart."
He announced in 2011 that he was taking time off from his career due to health issues. However, he resumed his activities back in 2014 when he announced in an interview that he was writing new compositions for singer Adele, as well as signing a deal with Warner Music Group in May this year to remaster his 8 solo albums as well as his unreleased material in the future.
