It seems like the ten years of waiting for Noctis' story is set to get even longer, as "Final Fantasy XV" has been delayed by almost a full two months from its original September 30 release date. "Final Fantasy" fans may now get their hands on the game when "Final Fantasy XV" releases worldwide on November 29.

First signs of the delay initially surfaced last week, with a report by Gamenesia alleging claims from sources at major video gaming distributor GameStop. Square Enix eventually confirmed the delay, with the company releasing a video on the official "Final Fantasy XV" YouTube channel showing the game's director Hajime Tabata explaining the hows and whys of the delay. As Tabata's speech is in Japanese, English speaking fans can turn on the video's annotations feature for a translation.

The crux of Tabata's explanation is that while, for all intents and purposes, the game is effectively "finished" with an official master version on the way; the developers are still not actually content with the current state of the game as it is not the "highest possible quality" that they can release.

To reach that planned level of quality for the game, according to Tabata, the developers can simply create a patch set to update the master version of the game when it releases. IN other words, Tabata's team could simply do the same route as a lot of other developers in the industry and make up for the initial version's shortcomings by doing the now-common practice of releasing a "day one patch."

Yet the above is not something the "Final Fantasy XV" developing team is not willing to do, with Tabata's team being more considerate of those who has might actually have trouble accessing the Internet to download the patch.

Furthermore, not only will the day one patch apparently be pretty big, which is bad news for those with slower Internet speeds, it is still not enough for the developers to be content with the quality of the game.

Perhaps to compensate for the delay, the "Final Fantasy XV" team will release a video featuring gameplay from the master version. The video is slated to release on Tueday, August 16, though it will only be an English version with a release in other languages planned afterwards. Two days later, when Gamescom 2016 on Thursday, August 18, the master version of "Final Fantasy XV" will be playable at the vent for players to get an even deeper look and judge for themselves just how finished the game is.
