Korean Dancer Becomes Principal Dancer at Boston Ballet
Korean dancer, Han Seo-hye, has been named the principal dancer at the Boston Ballet.
The 26-year-old soloist also served as the main character in "Swan Lake" with the famous ballet troupe. Boston Ballet's artistic director, Mikko Nissinen, informed Han of her promotion after the Sunday performance of "Swan Lake" at the Boston Opera House.
Han has been dancing ballet since the age of 7. She entered the Korea National University of Arts in 2005. According to Donga, the gifted dancer has won the gold prize at the Dong-A Dance Concourse and the silver at the International Ballet Competition in Varna, Bulgaria, both in 2008.
Han joins a number of other Korean dancers serving as principal dancers around the world.
