T-ara's Hyomin Performs Songs From New Solo Album 'Sketch' At Seoul Mall: It's My 1st Time Busking, Especially By Myself!' Singer Says [VIDEO]
It looks like Park "Hyomin" Young, the 26-year-old vocalist of the K-pop girl group T-ara, isn't sketched out about trying new things.
On Wednesday at the COEX Mall in the upscale southern Seoul neighborhood of Samseong-dong, Hyomin made her maiden voyage into the world of "busking" or performing music, often solo, in a public space.
"It's my first time busking, especially by myself," said the T-ara band member. "But thank you to so many people who came today."
Hyomin admitted to the crowd at COEX that she never fully overcame her stage fright.
"It's been already eight years since I made my debut," she said. "I am still nervous standing in front of people.
Produced by Ryan Jhun the K-pop hitmaker behind EXO's "Love Me Right," "Dumb Dumb" by Red Velvet's and the SHINee single "View," Hyomin's five-song EP "Sketch" was released on March 17.
Accompanying herself on keyboard before performing to a prerecorded track with a team of dancers, the T-ara singer performed her new single "Gold" as well as the title track from "Sketch" for the large crowd of fans and photographers.
Hyomin, who co-wrote the songs "Still" and "Only We Are Unaware Of Our Story" on "Sketch" would like to have more opportunities to showcase her own compositions.
"I hope to have more opportunities to sing my own songs on [television]," she said. "I will work harder and create more good songs."
