Outlander cast Caitriona Balfe insists she's not dating co-star Sam Heughan

"Outlander" season 2 premiere is coming and Entertainment Weekly teased fans with a racy image of its lead cast members Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan.

For some, the photo suggested how comfortable the two are with each other, making them assume that maybe, something is going on between them.

However, Balfe and Heughan are reportedly not dating. The worse part of it is that the former is already tired of such talks.

"Honestly, I'm tired of that conversation," Balfe told Entertainment Weekly. "This is fantasy. This is our job. We are very different in our private life. We are best friends. From the moment we met, we got along. Sam is one of the most generous people you'll ever meet. Such a great guy, no ego involved."

Heughan, on the other hand, is sad when fans feel down with the fact that they are not together.

"It saddens me a bit but I guess that means we've done a good job," he said in the same interview. "I don't know. It's a strange one. I'm still coming to terms with what it's like to have people follow your personal life as well as your public life. It gets amusing. But she's just wonderful. We're very good friends."

There were earlier reports that Balfe and Heughan are getting cozy on the set of "Outlander" season 2, citing a person working close with them.

"Sam and Caitriona were taking a short break between scenes when I saw them off to the side, holding hands and Sam was even whispering in her ear," an "Outlander" extra told Celeb Dirty Laundry last January. "She was laughing at whatever he said and well, they looked like an ordinary couple."

However, Balfe was quick to dismiss such rumor saying it will be difficult for them to become romantically involved.

"Outlander" season 2 premiere is on April 9.
