'Sister Wives' Bigamy Case News: Kody Brown Avoids Jail Amid Rumors Of Teenage Girlfriend & Robyn Divorce?
Amid rumors that Kody Brown may purportedly be filing for divorce from his latest wife Robyn in order to marry a fifth teenage wife, the "Sister Wives" family may purportedly have good news to celebrate.
According to a report, Kody Brown may have avoided the possibility of going to jail because of a new bill in Utah.
"A bill called HB281 was passed by the House Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Committee in Utah and has been sent to the full House for a vote, according to the Salt Lake Tribune," Radar Online reported in a news article. "The bill would change bigamy from a felony to a misdemeanor."
"Brown is legally married to 'fourth wife' Robyn Brown, but has three others. They all moved to Nevada to avoid jail time in their home state of Utah, but have since sued the state over the polygamy law," the report recalled.
"They are currently awaiting a ruling from the 10th Circuit court for their case, but the legislature ruling could affect their lawsuit."
This news could be a breath of fresh air for the "Sister Wives" family now that it is being reported that divorce could be on the table for Kody Brown and Robyn, so that the clan patriarch could take in a new wife who is a teenager.
"Kody is reportedly on the 'prowl' for a 'teenage fifth bride' to add to his polygamist family," The Hollywood Gossip wrote.
If there is some truth to rumors that Kody Brown will be adding a teenage woman to the "Sister Wives" after filing for divorce from Robyn, then his fifth wife would be no less than two years older compared to his oldest child, Logan, who according to their family website, is 17 years old.
The "Sister Wives" stars are yet to comment on the news of bigamy from a felony to a misdemeanor, as well as the rumors that Kody Brown could divorce Robyn for a teenage fifth wife.
