Despite Jake Gyllenhaal's rumored efforts in trying to win Dakota Johnson back, it seems like everything's not working after the actress recently revealed that she doesn't need a partner.

The 35-year-old actor first hooked up with the 26-year-old actress back in 2011. Although the former couple only dated for about two months, it was said that the "Prince of Persia" star never stopped admiring the actress. Earlier reports even revealed that he was doing his best trying to rekindle their failed romance.

According to Hollywood Life, after Dakota Johnson and her ex- boyfriend Matthew Hitt split, the "Southpaw" actor wants to give their failed relationship another shot by initially showering the actress with flowers and sending her sweet messages.

Although the former couple was reportedly spotted in an exclusive bar in Los Angeles in August, there is still no confirmation on the real score between them.

While Jake Gyllenhaal reportedly continues to show his admiration to the young actress, the question is, is it even working? Despite the actor's efforts to win Melanie Griffith's daughter back, it seems like none of his moves are working.

In a recent interview with the "How To Be Single" lead star, she revealed that she actually doesn't need a partner just to make her complete.

"I don't need a partner to feel complete. In today's society there's less of a stigma on being single. I think society is relinquishing some of the pressures of needing to find a spouse," the "Fifty Shades of Grey" according to Fox News. The actress said also confirmed that she's single at the moment.
