Jared Leto Set To Be Batman’s Greatest Nemesis? Viola Davis Calls The Joker Actor Crazy

Reports claimed that the infamous "Joker" has been one of the most iconic villains in the history of Hollywood movies. After the unforgettable and Oscar winning "Joker" portrayal of the late Heath Ledger in "The Dark Knight," the bar is set high for Jared Leto to fill in the shoes.

Several reports brought attention to the public as rumors referred Leto as the best actor who graced the iconic supervillain character who will appear in the movies "Suicide Squad" and "Batman vs Superman."

"It's a scary character to tackle. People kept their distance from Leto when he was in 24/7 Joker mode. It's like tailoring a suit, it's not one size fits all. But it really made an event when he would show up on set," David Ayer, director of "Suicide Squad" revealed to USA Today.

"Big time the hairs stand up on the back of your neck. If you're a Batman fan, you have to love/hate the Joker because he's the best nemesis ever. Just to have him on one of my film sets, it was a very memorable thing for me," he added.

Meanwhile, it seemed like Leto really embodied his "Joker" character not just on-screen, but also to his interactions with his co-stars in "Suicide Squad." Viola Davis recently shared that she got terrified every time Leto sent dreadful gifts to his co-stars.

"The Joker -- he did some bad things, Jared Leto did," Davis told Vanity Fair. "He gave some really horrific gifts. He had a henchman who came into the rehearsal room ... with a dead pig and plopped it on the table, and then he walked out. And that was our introduction to Jared Leto."

"Now, I'm terrified, just as a person, thinking, 'Is he crazy? But the second part was, 'Oh, s--t, I've gotta have my stuff together.' You talk about commitment, and then he sends Margot Robbie a black rat. It was still alive, in a box. She screamed. And then she kept it," she added.

Together with Margot Robbie, Will Smith, Jai Courtney, and Viola Davis, Jared Leto is set to show his acting prowess as his iconic character "Joker" in "Suicide Squad" which will hit theaters this August 5.
